This cigar gets off to an elegant start on peppery notes, pumping out lavish amounts of smoke. The first third settles into a vegetal and cinder profile, offering a consistent and balanced experience. Heating up slightly in the second third, it keeps its balance but drives out the finesse. The Topes then layers on depth and picks up spices on its way to a finish that’s full of punch. A very good Cuban, but a little more suppleness wouldn’t hurt.
