Davidoff introduces its new Puro Dominicano line
This new range, adorned with a black band, is composed entirely of Dominican tobaccos. The three sizes are unusual in the Swiss brand’s catalog.
Nicaragua, Yamasa, Escurio, and now Puro Dominicano. Davidoff’s black rings welcome a new line whose blend is, as its name suggests, 100% Dominican. The tobaccos originate from six different regions of the country, the Swiss company specifies in a press release.
“With Puro Dominicano, we are strengthening the foundation of our Black Band Collection by highlighting the Dominican Republic’s exceptional tobacco heritage,” says Javier González, SVP Head Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff.
The Davidoff Puro Dominicano line pays tribute to its Dominican origins not only through its blend but also through one of its formats. The 149 mm long Corona Larga, with its 44 ring gauge (1.8 cm), refers to 1844, the year of the Dominican Republic’s independence (photo above). This format is unique within the Davidoff range, the company states.
The two other formats, also atypical in the brand’s catalog, are the Short Robusto (115 mm x 52) and the Perfecto (140 mm x 50).
This new range is presented in a black wooden box containing twelve cigars or in cases of five (photo below).
The global market launch date announced by the Swiss group is April 23, but variations of a few days may occur depending on the country.
