BHK 58 coming soon?
Habanos SA is considering launching an additional size in the Cohiba Behike line.
While Cohiba’s ultra-premium line will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2025, Habanos SA is considering expanding its portfolio with a fourth module.
According to our sources, Cuban master blenders are currently working on a BHK 58 whose cepo would be, as its name suggests, 58 (23.02 mm) and length 178 mm. For the moment, the marketing services and management of Habanos SA have not yet made a firm decision.
If ultimately launched, the BHK 58 would be the largest cepo in the Cuban portfolio.
Such a project had already been considered on the occasion of the line’s 10th anniversary in 2020. Prototypes were circulated to distributors gathered in Havana for the traditional “marketing workshops” in June 2019. A launching event was even scheduled in Monaco during 2020 under the leadership of Coprova, exclusive distributor of Cuban cigars in the principality.
But Covid and production disruptions in Cuba had cut short the project, which has therefore resurfaced at Habanos S.A. for a few months and which could become reality during the next Festival del Habano, in February 2025.
