A new brand of 100% French-made cigars is entering the market, reviving a tradition that dates back to 2005. Five sizes are available.

100% French cigars are making a comeback. Febùs, a new brand of puros produced in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France, is beginning to reach its first French tobacconists.

The project is spearheaded by Clément Arriau, a former telecommunications executive, who has teamed up with two industry veterans involved in previous attempts to establish a French cigar industry: Christophe Congues, a tobacco grower based in Moumour, near Oloron-Sainte-Marie, and Christel Hébert, who previously oversaw production of Navarre and later Hedon cigars.

Like their predecessors, Febùs cigars are made exclusively from tobacco grown in Béarn, a historic region in the foothills of the French Pyrenees. Production, however, has moved from the picturesque old factory in Navarrenx to new premises in Artix, approximately 20 kilometers from Pau.

The range consists of five sizes, with French retail prices as follows:
– Corona Gorda (143 mm × 46) : €23
– Robusto (124 mm × 50) : €25
– Grand Robusto (150 mm × 52) : €29
– FBS 56 (160 mm × 56) : €35
– Double Corona (230 mm × 50) : €39

Depending on the size, the cigars are available in three-count packs and/or boxes of 10 or 25. Febùs handles distribution directly.

The launch marks a new chapter in the turbulent history of French-made puros, which began in 2005 with the introduction of Navarre cigars, later succeeded by Hedon. The company behind those brands was placed into judicial liquidation in 2024.
