In Monte Carlo, “the most exclusive club in the world” is now opened to its members
The Monte Carlo Cigar Club is a collaboration between Dominique London and Monte Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. It was officially opened on Monday, May 19.
As the Principality bustles with preparations for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, which will be held later this week, the Monte Carlo Cigar Club (MCCC) was officially inaugurated on Monday, May 19.
Located on the first floor of the Monte Carlo Casino, on the site of the former office of François Blanc, founder of the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) in 1863, the MCCC is accessible only by membership and also to VIP clients of SBM establishments.
With around fifty founding members, whose annual membership fees is undisclosed, the MCCC boasts an indoor and outdoor area of just over 200 m², including a smoking lounge, a bar, a walk-in humidor, and a terrace facing the sea.
The interior design was provided by the Parisian architect Moinard-Bétaille, which collaborated with the Italian firm DeArt on the walk-in humidor.
Prince Albert II of Monaco attended this inaugural cocktail reception, which brought together around a hundred guests. Monte Carlo SBM is 74% owned by the Government of Monaco.
With nearly 30 boutiques in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany, Dominique London, owned by Belgian Dominique Gyselinck, is the largest chain of cigar and spirits shops in Europe.
