WorldLounges, The “Swiss Army Knife” App For Cigar Lovers

The iOS and Android app lists smoking lounges around the world. It also details the tobacco laws in force in each country.

WorldLounges has released version 2.0, a complete overhaul of its cigar lounge directory. The app is free and available in seven languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese.

WorldLounges lists over 1,400 locations across 120 countries where one can smoke a cigar, including dedicated lounges, smoking-friendly bars, private clubs, terraces, and cigar shops with smoking areas. It operates via a map interface: users navigate to a chosen area, tap “search this area,” and the venues appear. Each listing provides the address, opening hours, phone number, photos, community reviews, venue type, and a description. Built on a collaborative model, the app allows users to add locations not yet included on the map.

Regulations and duty-free allowances in 66 countries

For 66 countries, WorldLounges also publishes current tobacco regulations and applicable customs allowances. All data is sourced and dated. Questions a cigar enthusiast might have upon arrival—where am I allowed to smoke?, how many cigars can I bring into the country?, and how many can I take back?—are answered within the same app that features the map.

Merchants can claim their listing for free

Any cigar lounge or tobacconist can claim its own listing at no cost, following ownership verification. Once validated, the merchant manages the page directly: information, photos, opening hours, and description.

Verified merchants can also promote their events—such as brand nights, tastings, and product launches. These events are visible to any user browsing that area of the app, including visiting travelers.

“A cigar lounge spends a significant budget on a brand event, yet the only people who find out about it are those already on its mailing list. Meanwhile, there might be cigar enthusiasts in town for three days who would have stopped by. Claiming your listing costs nothing and solves this problem,” explains Michael Schayer, founder of WorldLounges.

WorldLounges 2.0 is available on the App Store and Google Play. Download links and the form for merchants to claim their listings can be found at cigarslounges.com, the app’s website.
