An El Rey Del Mundo “Costa Rica Exclusive” Is Arriving Next Week

The El Rey del Mundo Tico RE Costa Rica, which celebrates the local distributor’s 15th anniversary, is presented in a humidor specially designed for the occasion.

The El Rey del Mundo Tico RE Costa Rica 2025 will go on sale starting September 28, according to Cruz Canela, the exclusive Habanos distributor for Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The cigar was previously unveiled during the Habanos Day event held in San José last May.

This Regional Edition holds special significance as it marks Cruz Canela’s 15th anniversary.

“Tico” is an affectionate nickname for a native of Costa Rica.

The El Rey del Mundo Tico is a grand robusto measuring 150 mm in length with a 54 ring gauge—a vitola known as geniales in Cuban factories. It is presented in Slide Lid Boxes (SLB) of 15 cigars, with a total production run of 6,000 boxes planned.

A unique feature of this commemorative edition is that each box is housed in a humidor specially designed by HumidifGroup, a specialist in packaging solutions for the cigar industry.

In addition, 15 “Master Piece” humidors will be produced, each containing two boxes of El Rey del Mundo Tico. Cruz Canela promises an announcement regarding this very soon.

The El Rey del Mundo Tico is the third Regional Edition for Costa Rica, following the Ramón Allones Nuevo Mundo (2017) and the Saint Luis Rey Pura Vida (2020).

The 15-count box and humidor are priced at US$980 (approx. €856), working out to US$65.30 per cigar (€57).
