Habanos S.A. is preparing to launch its first regional edition dedicated to the entire African continent.
The Bolivar Safari RE Africa 2025 will be unveiled on November 21 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, during an event hosted at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire in partnership with Zino Abidjan—a company that operates several shops and smoking lounges across the West African nation.
Sales will begin in Côte d’Ivoire shortly thereafter at Zino locations, with the product becoming available in other African countries in January 2027.
The Bolivar Safari RE Africa 2025 is a robusto measuring 110 mm in length with a 54 ring gauge—a vitola known as “torres” in Cuban cigar factories. These are the exact same dimensions as the Trinidad Vigia.
Distribution will be handled by Phoenicia Cyprus, the exclusive Habanos distributor for most African nations, as well as several countries in the Middle East and Southern Europe (Greece, Cyprus).
According to Phoenicia, production will be limited to 16,666 boxes of 12 cigars—a packaging format never before used by this Cuban brand. Another notable feature is that the Bolivar Safari is finished with a perilla (a small pigtail cap).
Established in 1902, the Bolivar brand will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2027.
