Cohiba Talismán To Join The Regular Habanos Portfolio

To celebrate Cohiba’s 60th anniversary, the 2017 limited edition is set to become a regular production cigar. The global launch will take place next October in London.

The story of the Cohiba Talismán continues. First unveiled in November 2017 at a lavish event at London’s Corinthia Hotel, this 2017 Limited Edition is set to join Cohiba’s regular portfolio, Habanos S.A. announced earlier this week to mark the brand’s 60th anniversary.

Once again, the British capital will host the (re)launch event for this cigar—measuring 154 mm in length with a 54 ring gauge—which retailed for €55 when it first appeared (in very limited quantities) in France in 2018. The price point for the regular production version in the coming months is not yet known.

The Cohiba Talismán has been one of the standout cigars of recent years. It was such a hit that, in a rare move, Habanos S.A. released a second batch of tens of thousands of cigars two years after the initial launch. “Due to its success and the availability of raw materials from the same harvest used for this limited edition, Habanos S.A. has decided to reward the loyalty of its aficionados with an additional quantity of Cohiba Talismán,” the Havana-based group stated at the time.

Shipments arrived at French tobacconists in early 2020, and L’Amateur’s tasting panel featured the Talismán as the “Cigar of the Month” in issue 134 (Jan–Feb 2020).

With Cuba unable to host the 2026 Festival del Habano, Habanos S.A. has announced a series of worldwide festivities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Cohiba, a brand created in 1966. The addition of the Talismán to the regular portfolio will mark the first event of this “Cohiba Year,” which is set to culminate in a grand finale at the 2027 Festival in Havana—provided the situation on the island allows it.
