Habanos S.A.’s 2026 Marketing Workshops Will Be Held in Spain
With the energy crisis unresolved and direct flights to Cuba becoming increasingly rare, the group has decided to relocate this week of meetings reserved for distributors to Spain.
Usually held in Havana, Habanos S.A.’s “marketing workshops” will take place this year in Spain during the week of June 29, according to several distributors.
These meetings traditionally bring together Habanos S.A. distributors and executives each summer to review marketing strategy, upcoming new products, and the organization of the Festival del Habano the following winter.
Due to the energy crisis in Cuba, many airlines have suspended or reduced their flights to the island since the beginning of the year.
The headquarters of Tabacalera SLU, a co-shareholder of Habanos S.A. with the Cuban state, is located in Madrid.
In February, the energy situation in Cuba led organizers to postpone the Festival del Habano, which was scheduled to take place in Havana from February 23 to 27, 2026. So far, no new dates have been announced.
During the Covid pandemic, in 2021 and 2022, the “marketing workshops” were held virtually.
