Punch Néctares No 50, the very first Regional Edition for Ireland
Habanos S.A. unveiled the Punch Néctares No. 50 — the first-ever Habanos Regional Edition dedicated exclusively to Ireland.
Sir Hassan El Tamimi, our special correspondent in Dublin (Ireland)
The Punch Néctares No 50 official launch took place on Sunday, June 22, at a celebratory event held at House Dublin, co-hosted by Hunters & Frankau and Ampersand, Ireland’s official Habanos sub-distributor.
The atmosphere was lively and elegant, with music and fine dining — a perfect setting for a momentous cigar unveiling.
Rob Fox, Managing Director of Ampersand and Chair of James J. Fox, expressed the significance of the release in both a public address and a personal reflection: “Finally bringing Ireland its first Habanos Regional Edition is a moment of immense pride. The Punch Néctares No. 50 is a phenomenal cigar and, in reuniting the Punch brand with its legacy Néctares line, it represents our enduring commitment to cigar culture in Ireland.”

And in response to what this milestone meant to him personally, Fox added: “It has been a high moment of my career to launch the Punch Néctares No 50 in Dublin. Yes, it’s Ireland’s first RE. Yes, it’s a relaunch of the Néctares line, which is so special to my family’s business. But what makes the weekend stand out even more for me and the team is that we launched the cigar with 160 of our friends, whether they were consumers or cigar merchants, from all corners of the world. It was a brilliant day, a day I will never forget.”
The Néctares name holds deep roots in Irish cigar history. Once a cherished line within the Punch brand, these cigars were produced exclusively for James J. Fox in Dublin and London, each vitola bearing a unique number. Though the line was discontinued in the 1980s, the Punch Néctares series was among the most coveted cigars in Ireland — making it the perfect tribute for the country’s first official Habanos Regional Edition.
