From September 15 to 17, Dortmund will once again become the meeting point for the international tobacco industry: InterTabac brings together more than 800 exhibitors from around the world and sets clear impulses – particularly in the cigar segment. Firmly anchored in the trade show’s profile for a long time, this sector has continuously evolved and offers manufacturers and retailers concrete business opportunities, valuable market insights, and direct access to key decision-makers.
The significance of the cigar segment at InterTabac is reflected not only in the strong presence of leading cigar companies but also in the strategically expanded supporting program. This includes established highlights such as the Cigar Blending Experience. In addition, since last year the Cigar Culture Summit – held on the day before the trade show – has provided industry stakeholders with the opportunity to position themselves strategically ahead of the show. The format will be advanced in 2026 in collaboration with renowned partners and thought leaders.
Manufacturers, distributors, specialist retailers, media representatives, and industry strategists will come together to set the course for the upcoming business year. Participants can expect in-depth analyses of global trends, regulatory challenges, and innovative distribution channels.
Streams focus on emerging markets and innovation
The Cigar Culture Summit will feature three content streams. Stream 1, titled “Emerging Markets & How to Enter Them,” focuses on the real opportunities of international expansion and demonstrates how brands can strategically enter new regions. Stream 2, under the theme “Innovation & Quality Leadership in Premium Cigars,” explores how manufacturers can develop their portfolios without losing the essence of their brands. Both streams will be conducted in English. Stream 3 will be presented in German and is specifically tailored to cigar and pipe specialist retailers in the DACH region. The Cigar Culture Summit will conclude with the Cigar Reception.
Those who start into the trade show with this knowledge advantage can deepen their insights over the following days. The InterTabac conference program will focus on topics such as regulation, market analysis, and sustainability. In addition, master blender Claudio Sgroi will provide in-depth insights into the art of cigar blending throughout all exhibition days. This exclusive retailer-focused format offers valuable guidance for purchasing decisions.
Promising names on the exhibitor list
Cigars are not a mass-market product – they combine craftsmanship, heritage, and a culture of enjoyment. Accordingly, the market is highly demanding: customers value expertise, retailers require strong advisory skills, and quality awareness is essential throughout the entire supply chain. At InterTabac, cigar manufacturers and importers do not present themselves in anonymous catalogues but in direct, personal conversations. Specialist retailers appreciate the opportunity to experience cigars before adding them to their assortments.
The first announced exhibitors already demonstrate the diversity of the companies represented at InterTabac. Well-known names in the premium cigar section include Joya de Nicaragua together with Quesada, Rocky Patel, Dynasty Cigars together with Victor Calvo Cigars, Nova Cigars, SansPareil Cigars, Casa Carillo as well as Arturo Fuente
Tickets for the trade show and all side events are already available. All important information about the trade fair, as well as access to the ticket shop, can be found at: www.intertabac.com
