James J. Fox Introduces Its “Selección”
The famous British tobacconist unveils The James J. Fox Selección, available only in J.J. Fox shops in London and Dublin.
The James J. Fox Selección will be launched this week at the historic 19 St. James’s Street boutique, followed by a launch on July 1st at the Dublin shop.
The Selección is a continuation of the Fox House Blend unveiled in 2003. However, the blend, now composed of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, has been revised, as has the presentation. “The box design honours our tradition for developing bespoke lines in partnership with some of most prestigious Cuban cigar houses,” J.J. Fox stated in its press release.
Inspired by the original presentation of Cuban boxes, the Selección comes in 20-unit sliding-lid boxes, adorned with a yellow ribbon running along the top row of cigars. Each box bears the inscription “Specially selected by James J. Fox London and Dublin.” The boxes also feature a seal, reminiscent of the Cuban guarantee seals that first appeared on Havana cigars in 1889.
The cigars are long fillers, handcrafted at the Danlí Cigar Factory (Honduras) under the supervision of master blender Hamlet Paredes.
The James J. Fox Selección is available in three sizes:
– Selección No. 7, 140 mm x 54 (duke), £35 (approx. €40)
– Selección No. 4, 142 mm x 46 (corona gorda), £29 (approx. €33)
– Selección No. 1, 102 mm x 50 (petit robusto), £25 (approx. €29).
James J. Fox states that his “teams in London and Ireland were heavily involved in selecting the sizes as well as the blend.”
